Some mythologies hold the stars to be angels and the Morningstar to be chief among them, as it is the last one to remain in the sky as the sun rises. As the sky lightened, this star was all that remained int he Eastern sky, but it too disappeared before the sun poked over the horizon.
After the sun rose it was another great morning and breakfast, and then we were off on the panga for more snorkelling. Each time in the water brings a new wonder. This time, in addition to the play of fish, there were extensive corals, and the anemones that only extend their tendrils at night.
We've had our final lunch on the island, and then it was a panga ride back to La Paz. We came back differently than we had come, following the shore this time and seeing all of the beaches along the way, and the road that leads up the pennisula.
It's definitely bittersweet returning to La Paz, seein the sprawl, the press nof humanity, but also the good things about civilization.
That afternoon, we were off to Todos Santos to help release baby sea turtles. There were a tonne of local kids at this, which was awesome to see. These kids were interested in the world around them and engaged in trying to help it. If there is any future for us on this planet, it's because kids are getting involved like this.
