So it's getting close to the 2 week pre-trip mark and I haven't freaked out yet.
Okay, maybe just a little bit.
In 3 weeks, I'm going to be on Railay, looking up at a climb, and getting ready to head up it.
My bag is halfway packed, I've got all of the gear I'm going to need, I've got my international driving permit and passport taken care of, and I'm starting to think I should do up a list or two. People always seem to make up lists of things, to help with the remembering.
Thus far, my preparation has been reading through the entire Lonely Planet Thailand guidebook, listening to and practicing some Thai language lessons, reading a bit of Wee's Thailand Climbing Guide, doing a bunch of gym climbing (at one point with an afro wig), and making sure I'm immune to just about every disease under the sun. The only thing left, really, is to survive the trip over there, which I've been told might be an adventure in and of itself.
Vanessa has told me that Anton tends to get really, really hyper when he travels. I got a glimpse of it last week when we booked our tickets to Railay. It was not pretty. I wonder how the check in agent is going to react when I request a seat at least an aisle away from him.
